Chrysler Sold 171,086 Vehicles In June, Up 9% From Year Earlier
Chrysler Group LLC said its June monthly sales increase of nine percent represents the fastest growth for the period since 2007.
Privately-held Chrysler sold 171,086 vehicles in June, up from 156,686 vehicles in June 2013. This despite two fewer selling days in the recent period compared with a year earlier.
Chrysler's inventory at June 1 totaled 509,714 vehicles, a 72-day supply.
Jeep sales were up 28 percent, while Ram pick-up trucks posted its best June performance in 10 years, with sales up 12 percent.
Further, six Chrysler group vehicles set sales records in June, which marked the 51st consecutive month of sales increases for the company.
Fiat sales rose 11 percent and the Dodge brand grew "slightly."
Sales of the newly-launched Chrysler 200 mid-sized sedan totaled more than 5,000 units in June, up from a 595 in May, its first month on sale.
