Apple Inc. Yet To Respond To iPhone 6 Plus #Bendgate Issue
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) was mum Wednesday morning about the fast-growing number of reports that its iPhone 6 Plus is prone to damage when carried in a pocket.
The potentially significant problem has already been dubbed "bentgate" or "bendgate" by some on Twitter, and was possibly first reported Tuesday by MacRumors.
"As iPhones get thinner and larger, storage of the handset in a pocket becomes riskier," MacRumors said.
Apple said earlier it sold more than 10 million units from Friday through Sunday.
Difficulty with the iPhone 6 wouldn't be the first such problem Apple has dealt with.
Its 2010 iPhone initially came with a flawed antenna. Apple first told customers to "avoid gripping the phone in the lower left corner," but eventually gave affected customers free cases for their phones.
Apple traded recently at $101.75 per share, down 0.88 percent.
