Fiat Chrysler Reports Better-Than-Expected Sales Growth In November
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (NYSE: FCAU) reported on Tuesday it sold 170,839 units throughout November, marking a 20 percent increase compared to the 142,275 units it sold in the same month a year ago. November's sales report marks the company's 56th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.
Shares were up 3 percent at $13.09 in the premarket.
Total car sales rose 26 percent from a year ago to 41,519 units while total truck sales rose 18 percent from a year ago to 129,320 units.
Analysts were expecting the auto manufacturer to report a sales growth of around 16 percent for the month.
Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and FIAT brands all posted year-over-year sales gains in November. Ram Truck saw the largest sales gain with a 31 percent increase in sales.
Eleven separate vehicles set records for November. The Dodge Dart, Ram ProMaster and Ram Cargo Van all recorded their best ever monthly sales. In addition, the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Patriot, Chrysler 200, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Journey, Fiat 500L and Ram pickup truck all recorded their best ever November sales.
Breakdown By Brand:
- Sales of Ram Trucks were up 21 percent in November.
- Sales of Chrysler branded vehicles were up 30 percent in November.
- Sales of Jeep branded vehicles were up 27 percent in November.
- Sales of FIAT branded vehicles were up one percent in November.
- Sales of Dodge branded vehicles were up “slightly” in November.
