GoPro Shares Flying High Alongside The 'Quadcopter'
Shares of GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO) are rallying, up nearly 7 percent on Thursday morning. The catalyst for the increase is news on the GoPro Quadcopter to be released in the first half of 2016.
Following rumors last year on the high-definition camcorder giant releasing a drone, founder and CEO Nick Woodman officially announced the quadcopter and notes that it will be the “ultimate GoPro accessory.” Woodman added that there will be multiple accessories available once the quadcopter is released.
Along with the quadcopter, GoPro is also introducing a camera that is meant to capture “spherical content.” Woodman thinks both of these new releases will enhance the user’s imagination.
Shares of GoPro traded recently at $56.91, up 6.8 percent. Shares are up 35 percent over the past three months.
