Amazon Announces Acquisition Of A 'High Performance And Technical Computing' Firm
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported on Friday that it has acquired NICE, an Italian-based company cloud company.
Amazon described NICE in its press release as a "leading provider of software and services for high performance and technical computing." NICE's products help customers to optimize and centralize their high performance computing (HPC) and visualization workloads while also providing tools that are a great fit for distributed workforces making use of mobile devices.
Amazon didn't specify how NICE will be implemented in its business but did note "NICE and AWS will work together to create even better tools and services."
Shares of Amazon were trading higher by around 1.4 percent at $510.89 early Friday morning.
