A&E Teams With 50 Cent For New Variety Series
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will be coming to TV screens in the not too distant future as the host of a variety series.
A&E made the (somewhat surprising) announcement on Thursday that it would air "50 Cent Presents" which will combine sketch comedy, stand up, reality segments, magic and music and dance performances. The official logline from the network also mentions Jackson's celebrity friends will frequently take the stage.
The variety format has grown in recent years thanks to the success of series like "America's Got Talent." NBC, which airs the summer reality hit, has been the most active in the genre with programs such as "Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris," "Little Big Shots" and the upcoming "Maya and Marty In Manhattan."
No date has been given for "50 Cent Presents," but one would imagine a 2016 date isn't out of the question. This marks A&E first real foray into the variety genre.
Jackson is also a producer on the Starz drama "Power," in which he also co-stars.
