Jack Fusco To Be Named CEO Of Cheniere Energy, WSJ Says

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE: LNG)'s board of directors voted back in December to oust the company's founder and CEO Charif Souki amid pressure from activist investor and major shareholder Carl Icahn.

Cheniere Energy has been operating without a permanent CEO since December, but this is expected to change soon. The Wall Street Journal, citing "people familiar with the matter," reported that the company may name Jack Fusco as its new CEO.

Fusco is currently the executive chairman of Calpine Corp, one of the nation's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources. He also served as CEO of the company from 2008 to 2014.

Prior to joining Calpine, Fusco was an energy investment adviser for a private equity firm and also held the title of vice president at Goldman Sachs Power.
