Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is having quite the week.

Despite a mixed earnings release that concerned investors, Apple was able to distract its detractors by following up with several new announcements including a New Macbook Pro and the first ever Nike Apple Watch.

The Macbook announcement could be a key catalyst for the notebook industry as it's a significant overhaul from past models and highlight several new features. The launch came on the 25th anniversary to the week of Apple's first notebook.

Apple is looking to close out the week with a bang with the new Apple Watch Nike+, which will be available starting Friday October 28. The new watch combines technology of two of the most recognizable brands on the planet.

The Internet of Things is unquestionably the future, as it's estimated the market will reach $600 billion by 2020. The wearable technology industry is expected to hit $71 billion by 2021.
