The worst performing industries in the market today are:
- Foreign Utilities: This industry slipped 3.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was CPFL Energia S.A. (ADR) (NYSE: CPL), which fell 3.6 percent. CPFL Energia shares have climbed 68.79 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 5.42 percent in the same period.
- Semiconductor - Specialized: This industry declined 1.8 percent by 11:00 am with NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) moving down 4 percent. IBM and NVIDIA reported collaboration on world’s fastest deep learning enterprise solution. Needham upgraded NVIDIA from Hold to Buy.
- Housewares & Accessories: The industry dropped 1.8 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Newell Brands Inc (NYSE: NWL), which declined 3 percent.
- Processing Systems & Products: This industry fell 1.4 percent by 11:00 am ET. Corelogic Inc (NYSE: CLGX) shares dropped 4.4 percent in today's trading. Corelogic shares have increased 4.50 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 5.42 percent in the same period.
