Criticizing Elon Musk Will Lead To Your Twitter Account Going Bad? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Alleges That's Exactly What Happened To Her
Twitter’s owner and CEO Elon Musk and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) have been exchanging jibes on Twitter.
What Happened: Musk, also the CEO of Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) and SpaceX, was responding to a tweet from Ocasio-Cortez who said, “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that "free speech" is actually an $8/mo subscription plan.”
Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8

Musk said that her response was “appreciated” and that she should now pay $8.
In a separate tweet, Musk posted a thinking face emoji and shared a “Periwinkle Supporter Crew Sweatshirt” on sale on Ocasio-Cortez’s “Official AOC Team Shop” for $58.

Why It Matters: Musk slapped a price tag of $8 on Twitter verification earlier and said “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bulls**t.”
The New York representative asked Thursday why should people pay $8 for their app just to get it "bricked" after they say something Musk doesn't like.
Ocasio-Cortez said it doesn't seem "very free speechy" to her. She suggested that the functionality on her app were restricted following her criticism of Musk's plan.
Yo @elonmusk while I have your attention, why should people pay $8 just for their app to get bricked when they say something you don’t like?
This is what my app has looked like ever since my tweet upset you yesterday. What’s good? Doesn’t seem very free speechy to me pic.twitter.com/e3hcZ7T9up
