'Lifelines To Putin Mean More Death,' Says Garry Kasparov, Slamming Sullivan's 'Lines Of Communication' Comment

Russian Chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov, who holds a pro-Ukraine stance, slammed the U.S. for not taking a more aggressive stance against Vladimir Putin for his war in Ukraine. 

What Happened: Kasparov slammed White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan for his comments on ‘lines of communications' being open with Russia.

"What is there to negotiate with Putin?," Kasparov tweeted. 

"The vital U.S. security arguments for supporting Ukraine are clear, and Biden admin should keep making them instead of feeble mixed messages," he added. 

This came after Sullivan, at an event at the Economic Club of New York, said the U.S. has channels to communicate with Russia at senior levels to clarify potential misunderstandings and reduce the possible use of nuclear weapons.

While he did not openly acknowledge that he is talking to Putin's country for Ukraine, amid reports that he is engaged in confidential talks with senior Russian officials, according to Reuters. 

Previously, Kasparov said the new U.K. Prime Minister made his first call “to the leader of the free world” after Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the war in late October. Kasparov claimed that the first call by a U.K. prime minister is usually made to Washington, which was not the case this time. 

Kasparov had also come down hard on Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk for his comments about the Ukraine war.
