iPhone Might Be The Best Choice If You Are Looking At The Fastest 5G Phone, Says Research

A new study has found that Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhones are significantly ahead of smartphones operated by Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Android, in terms of fastest 5G speed in the U.S. and U.K. 

What Happened: On Monday, Ookla, an internet connectivity testing company, published a report providing insights on the fastest 5G mobile devices. For U.S. and U.K. citizens, high-end iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 topped the charts.

The study examined the five fastest popular 5G services in 10 countries with the maximum connected devices. Upon testing, iPhone 14 Pro Max came on top in both U.S. and U.K. with a median download speed of 177.21Mbps and 171.24Mbps, respectively. 

The iPhone 14 Pro was closely trailing its sibling with a median download speed of 175.08 (U.S.) and 158.24 (U.K.).

Surprisingly, in the U.K., none of the top five 5G phones are Android devices. Apart from iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Pro and Mini found a place in the list. 

In contrast, Samsung's (OTC: SSNLF) Galaxy Z Fold4 finished third in the U.S. with a median download speed of 162.50 Mbps. 

The study only included 5G performance of phones with a "market share of greater than or equal to 0.5% of all devices." It took a minimum sample size of 100 devices in a given market.
