Twitter Singapore Staff Get Email With 5PM Deadline To Vacate Office And Work From Home

Twist and turns for Twitter staff isn’t ending since Elon Musk became the owner and CEO of the company.

What Happened: After having to deal with smelly bathrooms and many unpleasant things, Twitter employees at the Singapore office have now been asked to empty their desks and vacate the premises, reported Bloomberg.

Twitter did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comment.

People familiar with the situation said that the management informed the staff via email on Wednesday that they had until 5 p.m. to leave the CapitaGreen building — which serves as the company’s headquarters in Asia-Pacific — as Musk continues to pare expenses.

The workers were told to resume their duties remotely from Thursday and they have now been reassigned as remote workers in Twitter’s internal system until further notice, one of the sources said, asking not to be named.

This comes days after Twitter fired Nur Azhar Bin Ayob — a relatively recent hire — who served as the head of site integrity for the region.

Singapore was among the centers affected by deep and abrupt job cuts at Twitter in November last year when the new owner fired half of the company’s 7,500 staff.
