No More Poop Emoji For The Media, Elon Musk Says He's Gonna Send This To Reporters Instead
Elon Musk could be changing how Twitter responds to media inquiries — but not in the most tasteful way.
What Happened: In March this year, Musk made headlines when he announced that all inquiries sent to Twitter’s press email address would be met with a simple and rather unconventional response – a poop emoji.
On Friday, Billy Markus, popularly known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the co-creator of Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE), took to Twitter to express his amusement over the media’s efforts to get comments from Twitter despite repeatedly getting the poop emoji response.
Given the expected response, he wondered why news outlets even bothered to inquire.

Musk couldn’t let the opportunity to stir the pot slip by and announced plans to modify the auto-reply from the poop emoji to an “infinite loop” message, suggesting either a “We will get back to you soon” response or a teasing “Check with us again tomorrow” message.
While his comments seemed tongue-in-cheek, it wouldn’t be the first time Musk’s whimsical ideas turned into reality
Why It’s Important: In November 2022, shortly after Musk’s takeover of Twitter, a significant restructuring occurred, leading to the reported layoff of a considerable portion of Twitter’s communications team.
Intriguingly, Twitter’s communications shake-up might not be an isolated incident under Musk’s leadership.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA), the electric vehicle giant spearheaded by Musk, has allegedly operated without a dedicated public relations department since October 2020.
