TLT Long-Term Treasury ETF Moving Lower Through October Expiration, Options Trader Says

iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ: TLT) fell sharply on Thursday after Fitch downgraded the long-term credit rating of the U.S.

On CNBC’s "Options Action,"  Mike Khouw of Optimize Advisors said TLT Long-Term Treasury ETF traded around 2.9x its average daily volume on Thursday.

There was a buyer of 2,400 of the October 94-puts at an average price of $2.78 per contract, Khouw mentioned.

Traders expect TLT trading lower through October expiration.

Price Action: iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF shares fell 2.3% to close at $94.85 on Thursday, but added 0.4% in today’s pre-market trading session.
