Trump Jr. Asks Elon Musk 'Where Do I Send The Bill?' After Latter Promises To Pay Legal Fees For Unfairly Treated Users

Amidst allegations of “hate speech” rising on Elon Musk’s Twitter, now rebranded as “X,” the tech billionaire’s latest announcement has received widespread attention from netizens and famous figures alike, including Donald Trump Jr. 

What Happened: On Sunday, Musk pledged to cover the legal expenses of users who face unfair treatment from employers due to their posts or likes on the platform. His post implied that he intends to defend free speech and protect users from potential consequences of expressing opinions on his social media platform.

The announcement attracted the attention of Trump Jr., who asked Musk where he should send the bill because he has a “big one.”

Billy Markus, the co-founder of Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) and popularly known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, also lauded Musk’s announcement, exclaiming, “dude, that is sick.”

Many other users in the comment section shared Musk’s sentiment and said that true free speech could not be achieved if users constantly feared losing their jobs, facing legal action, or being subjected to censorship due to their online posts.

Why It’s Important: Musk’s latest announcements came after X Corp filed a lawsuit against the Center for Countering Digital Hate or CCDH, an organization known for critiquing the platform’s handling of hate speech under the tech mogul’s leadership. 

In response, the CCDH said it remained committed to independent research and campaigns against online hate and vowed not to be silenced.
