Tesla Expands Charging Access With New 'Universal Wall Connector' For Other EVs
Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) unveils a game-changing home charging solution for non-Tesla EVs in North America, Electrek reports.
The newly introduced Tesla Universal Wall Connector is inspired by Tesla’s Magic Dock, an adapter at Supercharger stations. This product, however, is tailored for home and commercial level 2 charging. It mirrors the appearance of a standard Tesla Wall Connector but can transform into an integrated J1772 adapter.
Some of its key features include 44 miles of range added per hour at 11.5 kW/48-amp output, an integrated J1772 adapter for versatile EV charging, Wi-Fi connectivity and power-sharing with up to six Wall Connectors.
Priced at $595, the Universal Wall Connector is competitively priced against other home charging solutions. Deliveries are set to commence in October.
