Ex-White House Lawyer's Prediction On Trump's Surrender In Georgia: 'He Won't Enjoy It'

Former President Donald Trump will potentially face some serious consequences as events unfold in Georgia.

Offering insights into the situation, Ty Cobb, a former Trump White House lawyer, discussed the potential ramifications for Trump in an interview with CNN

When asked about the psychological impact of the Fulton County detention center, where the ex-president is expected to be booked, would have on Trump due to its notorious reputation, Cobb believed the repercussions would be slight.

"I do think it will have some, you know, some impact on him. He won’t enjoy it," Cobb said on CNN. “But, you know, to the extent that it, it’ll rattle him … I don’t see that happening.”

Multiple reports suggest that Trump will make imminent voluntary appearance before Georgia's law enforcement. Notably, Fani Willis, Fulton County's district attorney, recently outlined a timeline for Trump and a group of his confidants, who are accused of trying to contest the 2020 results in Georgia.

Reacting to his recent legal challenge in Georgia, Trump, now navigating his fourth such indictment this year, signaled an upcoming media briefing. He was expected to showcase new findings, which he believes will clear his name and those of his associates. However, he later pivoted, indicating a preference to make his case in formal legal filings.

Cobb expressed astonishment at Trump's recent maneuvers, suggesting that they strayed from the ex-president's usual modus operandi.

"It’s inconsistent with the way he’s maneuvered through these cases over the last couple of months. You know, he has constantly ignored, I think, good advice in terms of how to comport himself," Cobb told CNN. The former Trump lawyer also suggested that Trump's sudden declaration to have a media briefing may have taken his legal team by surprise, necessitating immediate action.
