Want The Fastest Mobile Internet In The US? You Need This Smartphone And Carrier

If you are looking for the fastest mobile internet experience in the US, Ookla's SpeedTest has run the numbers and come up with the answer you want.

What Happened: Ookla's latest data shows that T-Mobile US Inc. (NASDAQ:TMUS) is far ahead of its rivals AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ).

The median download speeds that T-Mobile users registered on Ookla's SpeedTest service stood at 163.59 Mbps, more than twice as fast as both Verizon and AT&T. While Verizon registered a median download speed of 75.68 Mbps, AT&T came in last at 72.64 Mbps during the September quarter.

T-Mobile also came in first in other crucial metrics like upload speeds, latency, and consistency – all these criteria are essential if you want a fast mobile internet experience.

In terms of 5G speeds, too, T-Mobile was ahead of others at 221.57 Mbps – Verizon was a distant second at 153.79 Mbps, and AT&T at 101.55 Mbps.

You Need The Fastest Phone, Too: However, having only the fastest wireless carrier can only help you so much. You will also need the right smartphone for it.

According to Ookla, Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ:AAPL) latest flagship, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, is the fastest smartphone when it comes to accessing mobile internet.

iPhone 15 Pro Max registered a median download speed of 251.37 Mbps, while the iPhone 15 Pro was a close second at 227.41 Mbps. Interestingly, both these phones use the same A17 Pro chipset and Qualcomm modem, so the difference in speeds here is likely a result of network conditions more than the device capabilities.

The next-best on the list is Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.'s (OTCPK: SSNLF) Galaxy S23 Ultra – it is a distant third at 159.15 Mbps, followed by Galaxy Z Fold 4 at 145.76 Mbps.

Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google also found a spot here, with the 2022 flagship Pixel 7 Pro is in fifth place with a median download speed of 139.47 Mbps.

As a result, if you want the fastest mobile internet experience, T-Mobile and iPhone 15 Pro Max seem to be the ideal combination.
