Elon Musk Gets A Bout Of Nostalgia After X User Shares Post Of Tesla CEO Touting Model S Glass Roof

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday reminisced about the introduction of glass roof on the company’s Model S luxury sedan.

What Happened: An X user on Wednesday shared Musk’s post from Nov. 2016 where he touted the Model S’ glass roof.

“I highly recommend the new all glass roof on the Model S. This was very hard to develop, but it makes the interior feel amazing,” Musk wrote in the 7-year-old post.

Responding to the post now, Musk wrote, “Dang, that was 7 years ago!”

Why It Matters: Tesla introduced the glass roof on the Model S for consumers looking to see the skies in 2016 in addition to the panoramic sunroof. The panoramic sunroof, however, was discontinued later.

Earlier this year in March, the company updated the glass roof to weigh less and let in five times more light than before.

"Our new Model S roof glass lets in more light, allowing a clearer view of the sky, day or night, while maintaining the same level of heat and UV protection," Tesla then said.
