In a move that could revolutionize online shopping, Google is enhancing its AI-based Search Generative Experience (SGE) with fresh shopping features. The tech giant aims to assist users in discovering unique products and gift ideas and has also broadened its virtual try-on offerings.

What Happened: Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google is rolling out novel features for its SGE platform. SGE users in the U.S. who have opted into the service will now be offered suggested subcategories when they search for gift ideas, allowing them to explore and shop for products within these recommended categories.

Moreover, the company is creating a function for SGE that will enable users to produce photorealistic images from text descriptions of desired items and then locate similar products for sale online. This exciting feature will be incrementally launched on mobile for SGE users in the U.S. starting in December.

Furthermore, Google’s AI-powered virtual try-on tool will be expanded to include men’s tops from popular brands such as Abercrombie, Banana Republic, JCrew, and Under Armour. Currently accessible only on the Google app and mobile browsers in the U.S., this feature allows users to visualize how clothes will fit on different body types and is expected to become available on the desktop soon.
