Trump Calls Elon Musk A 'Fantastic Guy' While Talking About X: 'Love The Job He Has Done And He Has Bought A Certain Voice Back Into Play'

Elon Musk’s work on X, formerly Twitter, has received high praise from former President Donald Trump, who referred to him as a “fantastic guy” and a “brilliant person.”

What Happened: Trump expressed his admiration for Musk’s efforts on X during a recent conversation with comedian Theo Von at his country club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The discussion saw Trump commending Musk for his work, stating, “I love the job he’s done and he has brought a certain voice back into play.”

“He’s a fantastic guy and he’s a brilliant person and the country should be very proud of him,” Trump said.

Trump also reflected on his own experiences with social media, including his recent venture, Truth Social. His appreciation for Musk comes at a time when he is grappling with his own challenges on social media platforms. Following his ban from several platforms like Facebook, Instagram and the erstwhile Twitter, Trump launched TRUTH Social to reclaim his online voice.

“I really want just a platform. I mean, it’s more important than anything else and…[got] my voice back.”

Why It Matters: This isn’t the first time Musk and Trump have crossed paths. In a previous interaction, Musk revealed his political leanings, expressing support for Trump. The tech billionaire described himself as historically a moderate Democrat, stating that he has not been particularly political in the past.

In an interview on X that covered a wide range of topics, Trump lauded Musk for "breaking every record in the book tonight," as the overwhelming demand flooded the platform.

Trump also hinted at the potential of appointing Musk to a cabinet or advisory role in a recent statement. He suggested that tax credits and incentives are generally not beneficial and that he would consider ending the EV credit.
