Tech Data's quarterly profit fell to $54.1 million, or $1.29 per share, from $77.3 million, or $1.63 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, Tech Data's adjusted earnings came in at $1.75 per share. Its net sales fell 0.1% to $7.11 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.66 per share on revenue of $7.16 billion.
Rowan Companies Inc (NYSE: RDC) reported a 21% decline in its fourth-quarter earnings. Rowan's quarterly profit dropped to $45.1 million, or $0.36 per share, from $57.3 million, or $0.45 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue surged 32% to $275.1 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.30 per share on revenue of $270 million.
Sanderson Farms Inc (NASDAQ: SAFM) reported a narrower fiscal first-quarter loss. Its net operating revenue climbed to $2.22 billion from $2.11 billion. However, revenue before provision for doubtful accounts surged to $2.4 billion from $2.3 billion. Impax Laboratories' quarterly net income climbed to $21.9 million, or $0.33 per share, from $12.4 million, or $0.19 per share, in the year-ago period. Total revenue surged 60% to $158.6 million. Revenue at Impax's generics division jumped 61%to $153.3 million, while revenue at its branded segment climbed to $5.3 million.

Par Pharmaceutical Companies Inc (NYSE: PRX) posted an upbeat fourth-quarter profit. Par Pharmaceutical's October-December income from continuing operations climbed to $31.3 million, or $0.85 per share, versus $17.6 million, or $0.48 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Excluding items, Par Pharmaceutical earned $0.78 per share. Its revenue climbed 18% to $253.6 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.75 per share on revenue of $230.4 million.
Natus Medical Inc (NASDAQ: BABY) posted a weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter profit and issued downbeat first-quarter 2012 earnings forecast. Natus Medical expects Q1 profit between breakeven and $0.07 per share, on an adjusted basis, and revenue of $55 million to $60 million.
