Mattel Inc (NASDAQ: MAT) reported a 53% drop in fiscal first-quarter net income. Mattel's quarterly profit declined to $7.8 million, or $0.02 per share, versus $16.6 million, or $0.05 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding acquisition and integration costs, Mattel earned $0.06 per share. Its revenue dropped to $928.4 million from $951.9 million. Analysts were expecting a profit of $0.07 per share on revenue of $986 million.

Citigroup Inc (NYSE: C) reported a decline in its first-quarter earnings. Citigroup's quarterly earnings fell to $2.93 billion, or $0.95 per share, from $2.99 billion in the year-ago period. Excluding special items, Citigroup earned $1.11 per share. Excluding items, the company's revenue rose 1% y/y to $20.2 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1 per share on revenue of $19.81 billion.

Gannett Co (NYSE: GCI) reported a drop in first-quarter earnings. Gannett's quarterly revenue declined 2.6% to $1.22 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $1.24 billion. Its publishing advertising revenue dropped 8.4% to $551.4 million. Gannett's Q1 earnings per share came in at $0.28, versus $0.37 per share in the year-earlier period. Excluding special items, its earnings per shares came in at $0.34, versus $0.41 in the year-ago quarter. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.31 per share.

Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE: SCHW) reported a drop in its first-quarter earnings. Charles Schwab's quarterly earnings declined to $195 million, or $0.15 per share, from $243 million, or $0.20 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue fell to $1.19 billion, from $1.21 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.15 per share, on revenue of $1.18 billion.

M&T Bank Corp (NYSE: MTB) reported better-than-expected first-quarter earnings. M&T Bank's quarterly net income came in at $206.5 million, or $1.50 per share, versus $206.3 million, or $1.59 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its net interest income climbed 9% at $620.4 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.48 per share. However, provision for credit losses declined 34.7% to $49 million in the quarter.

Quicksilver Resources Inc (NYSE: KWK) reported its Q4 earnings at $0.14 per share. It reported its revenue ay $223.1 million, versus analysts' estimates of $188.4 million. Wowjoint Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: BWOW) posted a Q4 net loss at $0.3 million, versus a year-ago net income of $1.3 million. Its revenue dropped to $4.0 million, versus $11.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2010.

APR Energy Plc (OTC: APRYY) reported a better-than-expected full-year profit. APR Energy's pro-forma pretax profit for the period jumped 91% to $57 million. Its sales climbed 69% to $212.8 million. Analysts were expecting a profit of $50.7 million on sales of $207.2 million.

Russian Novorossiisk reported a 49.5% decline in its net profit last year to $130.5 million. Interest payments on debt came in at $144.6 million in 2011, while the currency exchange loss came in at $168 million. Novorossiisk's debt stood at $2.38 billion. Novorossiisk expects its 2011 revenue to surge 65.2% to $1.05 billion and earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) to climb 32.3% to $550.3 million.
