Readers Weigh In On Earnings, Jobs, The S&P 500 And Gold
The results are in! Benzinga readers gave their predictions for the upcoming week.
FuelCell Energy
FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ: FCEL) reported earnings after the close Tuesday. Benzinga readers were bullish on the company; 56 percent expected top and bottom line beats, 32 percent expected top and bottom line misses and just 12 percent see mixed results.

The results surprised readers; FuelCell reported sales of $38.3 million on estimates of $45.18 million, missing by 15.23 percent. The company also missed on EPS with a loss of $0.04 per share on estimates of a loss of $0.03 per share.
Five Below
Not nearly as many readers like Five Below (NASDAQ: FIVE), who is expected to report earnings after the bell Wednesday. Half of voters think the company will miss estimates, one fourth see mixed results and the last fourth sees top and bottom line beats.
Joseph A. Bank
The responses regarding Joseph A. Bank (NASDAQ: JOSB) report on Wednesday were more mixed. 45 percent of readers expect a beat and 45 percent expected a miss.
Nonfarm Payrolls
Analysts expected 215,000 jobs will have been added to the economy for the week’s big economic release, nonfarm payrolls. The portion of Benzinga readers who expect the report to beat or miss estimates are split almost entirely down the middle.
The S&P 500 Performance
Readers are mostly bullish! More than two thirds of voters see the index finishing the week higher while under a quarter see a downturn.
Gold
Gold has tumbled in value over the past couple weeks. Voters do not see this trend reversing in the upcoming week. More than half of respondents see the commodity continuing to fall in value while only 32 percent predict a rebound.
