Watch These After-Hours Movers On Wednesday Morning
Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s after-hours movers.
After Earnings
Shares of Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) were down more than 1 percent after the bell, following the announcement of the company’s second quarter results.
Earnings came in at $0.69 per share, ahead of the Street’s consensus of $0.63 per share. Nonetheless, revenue of $3.105 billion fell short of expectations, which called for sales of at least $3.177 billion.
On the other hand, CSX Corporation (NYSE: CSX), which also reported earnings after the bell, was up more than 3 percent after hours. CSX beat earnings estimates (reported EPS of $0.56 versus the Street’s consensus of $0.53), but missed sales projections ($3.064 billion reported, compared to an expected revenue of at least $3.139).
Other Movers
Other stocks on the move in Tuesday’s after hours were:
Syngenta AG (ADR) (NYSE: SYT) and Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) after news transcended about hedge fund billionaire John Paulson having started stake in the former, showing he supports Monsanto’s acquisition of Syngenta.
Finally, Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ: CELG) rose more than 5 percent after announcing it will acquire Receptos Inc (NASDAQ: RCPT), also up more than 10 percent. Celgene will pay $232.00 per share in cash, or approximately $7.2 billion.
