Here's What Office Depot Said On Its Pending Acquisition By Staples In Its Q4 Report
Shares of Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ: ODP) were trading lower by nearly 2 percent Tuesday afternoon after the company reported its fourth-quarter results and provided an update on its pending combination with Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS)
Office Depot said it earned $0.07 per share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $3.5 billion - short of the $0.11 per share and $3.6 billion Wall Street analysts were expecting.
Office Depot said in its earnings report that the company will present its case for the combination with Staples in a U.S. federal district court and expects a resolution by May 10, 2016.
Office Depot added that it continues to believe the combination with Staples "provides substantial benefits to our customers and shareholders."
Shares of Staples were trading lower by 1.48 percent at $9.35 Tuesday afternoon.
