Bearish Sentiment Rises In Recent AAII Sentiment Survey
According to the latest American Association of Individual Investors survey, bearish sentiment continues to be higher than its historical average, and rose in the past week.
In the survey ending the week of September 14, Bullish sentiment rose 0.3% to 30.5%. Neutral sentiment fell 1.3% to 28.2%, while Bearish sentiment rose 1.1% to 41.3%.
According to the survey, Bearish sentiment has been above 40% for five of the last 7 seven weeks. It is also one standard deviation above the mean for bearish sentiment.
The long-term average is 39% for Bullish sentiment, 31% for Neutral, and 30% for Bearish.
