HP TouchPad Now Best-Selling Electronic on Amazon
Over the weekend, HP began sending out notices to retailers in the U.S. and Canada to lower the price of its now discontinued TouchPad tablet computer to $99 for the 16 GB model and $149 for the 32 GB model, around a $350 saving. As you'd expect, this was met well with consumers and the tablet sold out in many locations within hours, if not minutes.
Amazon has updated its best-selling electronics list today, revealing that the HP TouchPad is number one and number two on the list, followed by the Kindle. Most companies selling the tablet through Amazon aren't even offering any discount and are selling at the regular price (if not more than the regular). With that said, there are a few sources that have the TouchPad for cheap, but not $99 and $149.
HP has stated that it will be releasing a second batch of TouchPads that will go on sale through its website sometime this week.
Were you able to get one?
