HTC Plans to Purchase a Mobile OS?
According to a report from Focus Taiwan, HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang has hinted that the manufacturer may be purchasing its own mobile operating system to use on some future handsets. "We have given it thought and we have discussed it internally, but we will not do it on impulse," Wang stated.
HTC currently uses Google's Android OS and Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 as its two primary mobile OS'. However, Google's recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility and Microsoft's partnership with Nokia has left HTC alone. With its two major partners, Google and Microsoft, placing their focus on other companies, there is no doubt HTC has to find a solution.
