OmniVision Technologies Spikes on iPhone 4S Confirmation

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OVTI) shares have held onto the majority of their gains after the website Chipworks that OmniVision Technologies image sensor chip was in fact used in the new Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone 4S, after weeks of speculation.

Originally, Chipworks had said that Omnivision was not in the iPhone 4S, that Sony (NYSE: SNE) had taken the image sensor chip, but Chipworks posted an update to its original post, and confirmed Omnivision is in the new smartphone.

The part is labeled OV531AF.

At last check, shares of Omnivision were up 55 cents to $15.60, a gain of 3.67%.
