A Look At Larry Robbins' Picks At The Ira Sohn Conference (MCK, LIFE, ESRX, FIS)

Larry Robbins, who manages the highly successful Glenview Capital hedge fund, revealed some of his highest conviction ideas at the Ira Sohn Investment Conference yesterday. Robbins said that now is a great time for stock-picking, and that investors should buy definitive growth and avoid high valuations.

Particular securities that he likes include McKesson (NYSE: MCK), Life Technologies (NASDAQ: LIFE), Express Scripts (NASDAQ: ESRX), and Fidelity National Information (NYSE: FIS). In regard to ESRX, Robbins said that he sees stable earnings and believes that the company has enough cash on hand to buy back stock or make acquisitions.

He cited Life Technologies' (LIFE) organic growth, defensive business mix, and potential industry consolidation as being bullish factors for the stock.

The Glenview founder said that McKesson (MCK) looks attractive because the company has a ton of cash, great free cash flow, and is trading at a reasonable valuation of 11x earnings.
