Derivative Plays On iPhone 4 (AAPL)
According to a Wall Street Journal article written by James Altucher, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) doesn't always reveal all their component suppliers to their iPhone products. Brian Blair of Wedge Partners, however, has ripped apart the new iPhone to identify the device's suppliers.
Here They Are:
- Omnivision (OVTI) - They are the 5-megapixel sensor in the camera.
- ST Micro (STM) makes the 3-axis gyroscope which is a completely new feature
- Triquint (TQNT) makes the PA Duplexer Module and the CDMA PA.
- Skyworks (SWKS) makes the GSM/GPRS Front End Module.
- Broadcom (BRCM) makes a combo chip (802.11 a/b/g/n + Bluetooth + FM Radio)
- Corning (GLW) makes the gorilla glass
- Texas Instruments (TXN) makes the Touch Screen Controller.
