Grain Market Closing Report
The agricultural futures markets are now closed. Wheat and beans finished negative while corn gained slightly. Wheat finished -6.25c to 783 ¾. Beans finished -12c to 1372. Corn finished +5c to 765 ¼.
Corn put it another solid day of gains, while wheat and beans closed down. The wheat finally sold off after rocketing higher for three straight days. Soybeans have remained weak since last Thursday's USDA report and continue to be the downside leader.
The patterns on all grains were the same today. Each had morning spurts followed by mid-morning sell offs, before rallying into the afternoon and closing weak. The difference is corn did this in positive territory, while wheat was around the flat line and beans were negative.
Today appears to have shown the first signs of weakness in the corn and beans since the USDA report, so a correction may now be in store.
