Four Great Twitter Accounts for Active Traders to Follow

Share:

If you've ever wanted to know who to follow on Twitter and why, this is the article for you.

Our first selection shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. It is a Twitter account produced by a trader with more than 23 years experience. His fast, unparalleled reporting has moved the market on numerous occasions. Who is this man?

Marc Lehman (@markflowchatter)

This Friday, we're following Marc Lehman. By taking advantage of @markflowchatter, you will gain instant access to all of his market-moving tweets. Just this week he tweeted that Maxim had initiated coverage of First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR) with a Sell rating and a price target of $85. Lehman was the first to break this news. At the time, Maxim's rating represented a significant discount to First Solar's trading level. This caused the stock to trade fractionally lower in after-hours trading. By the next morning, First Solar had declined more than 4 points.

If you had been following @markflowchatter, you could have taken advantage of this information and made a move on First Solar before the rest of the world began to report the story. That alone makes @markflowchatter a Twitter account to never forget.

Herb Greenberg (@herbgreenberg)

As CNBC's senior stocks commentator, Herb Greenberg is one of the most respected men in the industry. He has taken his Twitter account, @herbgreenberg, to a whole new level by delivering a wide variety of noteworthy information (and relevant links) – all in 140 characters or less.

More than most, Greenberg interacts with his fellow tweeters, replying frequently to user comments. And while he is first and foremost a CNBC reporter, he's not afraid to share links to other news organizations, providing his followers with comprehensive information whether it comes from his employer or another source.

Todd Sullivan (@toddsullivan)

Sullivan is the co-founder and general partner at Rand Strategic Partners. He also authors the ValuePlays blog, providing non-emotional financial information to his readers.

By following @ToddSullivan, you will receive his timely updates that get to the heart of the many issues that affect today's long-term investors. He talks about real company values and he does not buy into fads. Don't hesitate to follow him.

Pete Najarian (@petenajarian)

He's played in the NFL. He co-founded optionMONSTER.com. He appears on CNBC's Fast Money. You name it, he's done it.

Those who follow @petenajarian will gain further insight into his options information. They will also get the chance to interact with a football and finance legend.

Finally, every time the market moves, every time an analyst speaks, and every single time there is breaking news to report, @Benzinga will deliver this information with instantaneous tweets you won't find anywhere else.

Benzinga recommends that you use Twitter to your advantage for information and social connections that are not available anywhere else. We will continue to provide updates and highlight other must-follow Twitter accounts in the near future. Stay tuned!
