Russell Adds 4 New ETFs to Investment Discipline Lineup
Russell Investments, purveyor of the Russell Indexes and a new suite of investment discipline ETFs, bolstered its ETF stable today with the introduction of four new small-cap ETFs. The new Russell ETFs are based on Russell small-cap indexes designed as benchmarks for small-cap equity managers.
The new ETFs are the Russell Small Cap Aggressive Growth ETF (Nasdaq: SGGG), the Russell Small Cap Consistent Growth ETF (Nasdaq: SCOG), the Russell Small Cap Low P/E ETF (Nasdaq: SCLP), and the Russell Small Cap Contrarian ETF (Nasdaq: SCTR).
Russell's ETF lineup features large-cap equivalents of all four of the new small-cap funds. All four of new ETFs has an expense ratio of 0.45%.
“We created these unique products to answer a very specific need in the market,” said James Polisson, CEO of Russell's global ETF business. “Sophisticated investors now have an investment vehicle that provides them with focused exposure in the small cap asset class beyond the strict classification by sector and style.”
SCLP tracks an index of 399 stocks while SCTR is based on an index of 228 stocks. SCOG's index is home to 262 stocks and 323 stocks call SGGG's index home.
“The new Small Cap Investment Discipline ETFs offer multiple benefits to investors looking for small cap equity exposure,” said David Koenig, Investment Strategist at Russell Investments. “Not only can they be used as a standalone way to implement a specific investment discipline within a portfolio, they also represent potential complements for existing Russell 2000® Index exposures or small cap actively managed mutual funds.”
Seattle-based Russell Investments entered the U.S. ETF game as an issuer in May and has seen its offerings swell to 21 ETFs with $141 million in assets under management, according to the National Stock Exchange. The firm also offers two ETFs listed in Australia.
