Wingstop CEO: We're Seeing No Impact From Chipotle E. Coli Disaster

• Shares of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) have lost almost 24 percent over the past three months, mainly due to the E. Coli outbreak now affecting nine states.
• While evidence points towards Chipotle as the main culprit, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has not determined the source of the decease.

In spite of what its declining stock price might indicate, Wingstop Inc (NASDAQ: WING) has been doing great. With more than 800 restaurants, the company – which went public in June - is expected to soon report its 12th consecutive year of same-store sales increases.

The company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Charles R. Morrison joined TheStreet’s Brian Sozzi on Wednesday. Sozzi went into the E. Coli outbreak, which has driven Chipotle sales down 60 percent.

“As you watch the situation unfold, have you seen any impact on Wingstop? And, are you reviewing your quality control measures?” he asked.

“I can't say we've seen any specific impact on Wingstop,” Morrison assured, adding that the company puts a lot of attention to quality control and the freshness of the products it delivers. “We have very strict standards that we adhere to in our restaurants to ensure that challenges like that don’t hit us."
