Hedge Fund Manager Is 'Very Skeptical' Of Rumored Ackman Stake In Whole Foods

When asked about a rumor that Pershing Square Capital Management CEO Bill Ackman had taken a short position in Whole Foods Market, Inc. (NASDAQ: WFM), Rand Strategic Partners Co-Founder Todd Sullivan told Benzinga that he was very skeptical.

“In the past, his short positions like MBIA and Herbalife have been in companies where there are what he views as fraud and questionable accounting. To my knowledge, he does not do simply ‘valuation shorts,’” Sullivan said.

Whole Foods Market was up 1.1 percent recently at $53.77.
