Jobs Saved By Economic Stimulus Plan
According to a White House Report, The economic stimulus plan has saved over 250,000 jobs. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan applauds the efforts of those who used the stimulus plan to stave off lay offs while investing in reforms that would be helpful for future job creation.
Duncan also adds that there is still a long way to go to fully recover from the recession since only $67.6 billion of the $97.4 billion allocation for education has been spent.
Among the cities where the jobs were saved included Los Angeles with $6,000 jobs, New York saved 4,000 jobs and other smaller cities were also able to save jobs for their educators.
