Osama Bin Laden Blames US And Other Industrial Economies For Climate Change

In a new audio tape obtained by Al Jazeera, Osama bin Laden held the US and other industrial economies responsible for climate change.

The new tape follows the one released earlier in the week in which bin Laden praised the Nigerian man who on Christmas day attempted to blow up an airliner heading to Detroit. The attack was foiled as the man was subdued by passengers and crew members.

In the new tape bin Laden said that the industrial states, a majority of which signed the Kyoto Protocol, are to be blamed for climate change. The Kyoto Protocol is a UN treaty that was adopted in 1997 to combat global warming. In the new tape bin Laden also said that the comments made by Noam Chomsky, a political commentator that compared US policies to those of the Mafia, are correct.

In the tape released last week, bin Laden warned the US of further attacks unless the US president took steps to find a resolution to the conflict in Palestine.
