PlayStation 5 Slim Design Leaked? Here's A Sneak Peek At Sony's Next Console

A leaked online video appeared to reveal a potential PlayStation 5 Slim, a smaller version of Sony Group Corp's (NYSE: SONY) current-generation console that has been rumored for about a year.

Recent court documents presented by Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT) during the FTC trial against the acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc (NASDAQ: ATVI) supported the existence of the Slim model, suggesting it might cost $400 and could be released later in 2023.

The video, seen by The Verge and first published in a Chinese forum, showcased a slimmer design with a detachable disk drive and two USB-C ports on the front, unlike the current model, which only has one as well as a USB-A port.

According to Kotaku, rumors also indicated two purchase options: a console without the attached disk drive and a bundle including it.

Moreover, Sony might potentially discontinue the current models and transition to the Slim version as its main offering, allowing customers to purchase the disk drive separately.
