Is The Stock Market Open On Veterans Day? 2 More Market Holidays Left In 2022

The stock market, including the NYSE (NYSE: ICE) and Nasdaq Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ), will be open for a full day of trading on Veterans Day, this Friday, Nov. 11.

The bond market, however, will be closed.

Post offices, some schools, and a majority of banks and credit unions will also remain closed. 

Some private businesses opt to observe the holiday. Many businesses also provide veterans with free meals, price breaks, and coupons. With the addition of Juneteenth, the June 19 holiday honoring the abolition of slavery, there are eight Market holidays in 2022, an increase from seven in 2021.

Market holidays for the remainder of 2022 are as follows:

• Thursday, Nov. 24 - Thanksgiving Day (The day after, Nov. 25, — aka Black Friday — the market closes early at 1 p.m. ET).
• Monday, Dec. 26 - Christmas Day

• Friday, April 15 - Good Friday
• Monday, May 30 - Memorial Day
• Monday, June 20 - Juneteenth National Independence Day
