British Retail Sales Surge In March

British retail sales volumes rose 1.8% on a monthly basis and climbed 3.3% versus the year-ago month in March, accrding to the U.K. Office for National Statistics.

Economists were expecting a monthly surge of 0.8% and a 1.7% y/y rise.
