Apple Customers Ignore Harsh Chinese Media Attack
Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) Chinese customers do not seem to be bothered by the onslaught of negative stories that have hit the nation this week.
According to The Dividend Daily, Apple has endured at least one negative Chinese report every day this week. The latest comes from a publication called People's Daily, which led with the headline, "Destroy Apple's 'Incomparable' Arrogance."
As if that weren't enough, China Central Television aired a negative report that focused on the iPhone maker's customer service and post-purchase support.
Despite the deluge of media complaints, China Market Research Group has found that Chinese consumers have maintained their positive view of Apple.
Shaun Rein, who serves as the managing director of China Market Research, told Bloomberg that "Apple is known as having some of the best customer service in China and many consumers disagree" with the state media.
"Many consumers view it as a joke and feel the People's Daily is reaching in its criticisms," he said.
While these reports are unlikely to have a long-term effect on Apple's shares, the stock is currently trading down more than one percent.
