Another week, another batch of headlines that are nearly dominated by Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL).
From patent filings and trade-in deals to Apple TV and Samsung (OTC: SSNLF) sales troubles that were caused by the iPad Mini, Apple stole the spotlight nearly every day this week.
The exception is BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY), which became the hottest tech company on Wall Street after rumors claimed that Lenovo (OTC: LNVGY) wanted to buy the firm.
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Nintendo (OTC: NTDOY) and NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM) also made headlines this week.

Lenovo Rumored To Buy BlackBerry
Investors were very excited by the rumor that Lenovo (OTC: LNVGY) may be close to a deal to acquire BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY).
Little is known about the possible acquisition. Lenovo has yet to comment on the latest rumor.
When buyout rumors circulated before, Lenovo remained coy about the situation.

Apple Filed An Intriguing Patent
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) wants to bring more music services and features to its family of iDevices.
The company filed a new patent for a "coordinated group musical experience" that revolutionize the way DJs deliver music to listeners at concerts, festivals and night clubs.

Apple Added New Channels To Its Set-Top Box
The long-awaited Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) television set has yet to materialize.
In the meantime, the Mac maker has updated Apple TV with a handful of additional channels, including the Disney Channel (NYSE: DIS) and Disney XD.
Apple TV (the set-top box, not the television) is expected to receive another hardware upgrade before the end of the year.

Fears Of Xbox One Shortages Dispelled By Suppliers
Will Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) be hard to acquire this November?
That depends on the number of units Microsoft ships to each territory. With an estimated seven million units, there should be enough to satisfy some of the demand.
There were reports that Microsoft had reduced the number of units scheduled to ship in 2013.
Suppliers insist that is not the case.

Apple's iPad Mini Encroached On Samsung's Territory
It turns out that the iPad Mini is not only capable of cannibalizing sales of the full-size iPad.
The smaller iDevice is also capable of diminishing the sales of Samsung's (OTC: SSNLF) 10-inch tablet.
Consequently, Samsung is expected to ship fewer 10-inch slates in the coming months.

Microsoft Rumored To Invest In Foursquare
Foursquare, the mobile app that lets users 'check in' to their favorite places, could receive an investment from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).
The deal is far from final. Microsoft is one of multiple companies that are reportedly interested in making an investment.
If a deal is made, it would mark the second time that Foursquare co-founder Dennis Crowley sold all or part of a startup to a major enterprise.
In 2005, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) purchased Dodgeball, Crowley's other social networking company.

Apple Began Accepting iPhone Trade-Ins
After weeks of rumors, an apparent confirmation and an official announcement, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) began to accept iPhone trade-ins.
The move comes just weeks before the firm is expected to unveil its seventh-generation iPhone, which is rumored to be called the iPhone 5S.

Nintendo Dropped Wii U's Price Amid Growing Pressure From Sony, Microsoft
After failing to capitalize on its 12-month lead against Sony's (NYSE: SNE) PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Xbox One, Nintendo (OTC: NTDOY) has reduced the price of Wii U.
The $50 price cut goes into effect on September 20. Until then, consumers will pay $349 for the deluxe Wii U console.
In addition to the price cut, Nintendo also unveiled the Nintendo 2DS, a handheld system that plays 3DS games but cannot display images in 3D. The system looks like a typical 3DS but cannot fold in half.
