Intel to Release Haswell Refresh In April

On Friday, DigiTimes author Monica Chen reported that Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) will launch Haswell Refresh and 9-series chipsets one month early.

Intel moved the launch date for their CPU's from May to April. DigiTimes noted that the April launch of Haswell Refresh will "disrupt" plans to clear and develop inventories in the second quarter. Chen added that "The launch of 9-series chipsets in May as originally scheduled will render Taiwan-based makers unable to begin development of DIY motherboards based on Haswell Refresh and 9-series chipsets earlier in April, the sources indicated."

DigiTimes sources reported that Intel will launch 20 Haswell Refresh models in 2Q14. The company will release Haswell K and E series in the thrid quarter.

Shares of Intel closed at $24.75 on Friday.
