Microsoft Updates Office for iPad & Introduces Office For Mobile, Android

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced in March a ground-breaking move to bring its Office programs to Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad as part of a commitment to "bring Office to everyone, on every device and anywhere they need it."

Since the announcement, more than 40 million versions of Office were downloaded on Apple devices.

On Thursday, Microsoft announced the next step in bringing Office to everyone by introducing Office apps for Google Inc's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Android tablets. In addition, Microsoft announced it will deliver Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for iPhone users along with updates for iPad users.

Finally, Microsoft announced a new, touch-optimized Office apps for Windows 10 is in development.
