American Apparel to Cut Hours at Los Angeles Factory -NY Post

American Apparel Inc.(NYSE: APP) is planning to sharply reduce hours at its Los Angeles factory as a money-saving tactic, reports the New York Post. The slowdown could result in layoffs lasting weeks for thousands of the retailers garment workers, according to sources.

On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Hedge fund Lion Capital sent a letter to American Apparel's Board of Directors on Sunday, requesting the retailer consider strategic options, including a potential sale.
