GoPro Buys VR Startup Kolor

GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO) announced Tuesday the acquisition of Kolor, a virtual reality and spherical media company.

According to GoPro, Kolor’s solutions enable users to combine multiple photographs or videos to produce high-resolution panoramic or spherical content that can be used on mobile devices, the web or in a virtual reality environment.

GoPro’s founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman stated that “GoPro’s capture devices and Kolor’s software will combine to deliver exciting and highly accessible solutions for capturing, creating and sharing spherical content.”

GoPro traded at $45.71 in the after-hours session, down 2.79 percent.
