Report: Inspur Said To Have Joined Apple's Datacenter Supply Chain

China-based Inspur has been rumored to be added to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)'s server supply chain, according to a report by DigiTimes.

A partnership with Apple would likely involve Inspur helping transfer iCloud data services in-house. Currently, Apple is believed to use Amazon Web Services to host its cloud requirements. However, DigiTimes suggested Apple is "considering establishing its own datacenters to satisfy increasing demand and reduce expenses."

Mac Rumors noted Apple never confirmed who its cloud services provider is. The publication also suggested that Apple is building new data centers in Ireland, Denmark, Reno and Arizona while expanding an existing datacenter in Oregon.

Shares of Apple were trading higher by around 0.5 percent early Monday morning.
